The electorate of Pittwater covers the northernmost part of Sydney’s northern beaches, running from:

  •     Narrabeen in the south to
  •     Barrenjoey headland in the north and
  •     Duffys Forest, Cowan Creek and Narrabeen Lagoon in the west
It includes the suburbs and settlements of:
  •     Palm Beach
  •     Whale Beach
  •     Avalon
  •     Clareville
  •     Bilgola
  •     Bilgola Plateau
  •     Newport
  •     Mona Vale
  •     Warriewood
  •     Elanora Heights
  •     North Narrabeen
  •     Narrabeen
  •     Ingleside
  •     Terrey Hills
  •     Duffys Forest
  •     Cottage Point
  •     Bayview
  •     Bayview Heights
  •     Church Point
  •     Scotland Island
  •     Pittwater’s western foreshores

The electorate of Pittwater has more than 45,000 voters.

The electorate has traditionally been represented by the Liberal Party.  Notable former Liberal members include Sir Robert Askin, Jim Longley and John Brogden.  However, in a by-election in late 2005, independent candidate Alex McTaggart won the seat.  Rob Stokes regained the seat for the Liberals in the general election on March 24 2007.
