Member for Pittwater Rob Stokes today joined NSW Health Minister Jillian Skinner in welcoming the allocation of 28 new nurses to Mona Vale Hospital. These graduate nurses come in direct response to increasing demand for services at Mona Vale Hospital and will join a record 2163 new nurses and midwives who have been offered positions in over 100 hospitals throughout the State. "This is great news for our community and for our local hospital," Rob Stokes said today. "Whilst the capital improvements currently underway at the hospital are important - additional nursing staff are vital to help cater for increasing demand. "Mona Vale Hospital is growing in importance and this announcement clearly reflects the pressures and demands it's coming under. "I'm delighted with the government's commitment to properly resource our local hospital and respond to the changing needs of our community. "I look forward to welcoming these new nurses over the next month - along with the skills and enthusiasm they'll bring with them," Rob Stokes concluded. |
