Youth Parliament Opportunity For Pittwater Students Print E-mail
Sunday, 31 January 2010

Member for Pittwater Rob Stokes today encouraged young people in Pittwater to get involved in the YMCA Youth Parliament Program.

Open to all high school students aged 15-18, the Youth Parliament is a great opportunity for young people to learn about the parliamentary process and have a say on the issues which affect them.

“The Youth Parliament Program is a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn first hand about the parliamentary process”, Rob Stokes said today.

“Youth Parliament is an exciting program which enables young people to develop valuable skills in leadership, public speaking and team work.

“Applications for the Youth Parliament Program are open until 19 February 2010.

“Further information and details on how to apply for the Youth Parliament are available at www.ymcasydney.org/youth-parliament

“I certainly believe that Pittwater’s students could do a better job governing NSW than the current administration.

“The student Governor of NSW for last year’s Youth Parliament was Pittwater High School’s Jessica Priebee.

“It would be fantastic to have Pittwater represented in the youth Parliament once again. I encourage all eligible students to get involved”, Rob Stokes concluded.
