Service NSW App supporting COVID-safe check in

Member for Pittwater Rob Stokes has welcomed the state-wide rollout of a new check-in feature on the Service NSW App.

The new feature enables customers to check in at hospitality venues with a NSW Government issued QR code – improving convenience and safety for patrons and businesses.

QR codes are similar to barcodes and, when scanned with a mobile phone, can automatically recognise your visit to a venue. 

The new service is free and can help business operators comply with their obligations under the COVID-19 Public Health Orders.

Funds for local sporting clubs

Member for Pittwater Rob Stokes is encouraging local sporting clubs and associations to apply for funds under the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program.

The $4.65 million program aims to increase regular and on-going involvement in sport and recreation activities, break down barriers to participation, improve local sporting facilities and foster community cohesion.

Grants of between $500 and $15,000 are available, and applications are being received until Wednesday, 7 October.

Pittwater Secures On-Demand Public Transport

Member for Pittwater Rob Stokes today announced the Keoride on-demand transport trial in Pittwater has been further extended, as residents continue to enjoy the innovative public transport service.

Moving forward, the success of the pilot means on-demand public transport in Pittwater will become fully integrated into the public transport network with the renewal of the Region 8 network region contract in late-2021.

Solar Power for New Hospital Building

Member for Pittwater Rob Stokes today announced Mona Vale Hospital’s newest inpatient building is being equipped with a rooftop solar energy system.

Construction of the new building is expected to be completed in September and will accommodate a dedicated inpatient palliative care unit and an inpatient geriatric medical unit.

This will be the first building at Mona Vale Hospital to be equipped with a solar PV system and is part of a state-wide NSW Government initiative to improve energy efficiency at large hospital facilities.
