In light of the situation across Greater Sydney, the NSW Government and Commonwealth Government today announced an expansion of financial support for impacted workers and businesses, including those in Pittwater.

Payments to individuals:

-If you have lost 8-20hrs of work a week – currently $325, increased to $375pw from Monday

-If you have lost 20+hrs of work a week – currently $500, increased to $600pw from Monday

Claim the COVID-19 Disaster payment at www.servicesaustralia.gov.au

Support for businesses:

-For businesses with an annual turnover of more than $75,000 who experience a 30% downturn – payments of up to $10,000 per additional week of lockdown if you maintain your current staff headcount

-For businesses with an annual turnover of more than $75,000 – grants of between $7,500 and $15,000 to cover the first three weeks of lockdown, based on downturn

-For businesses with an annual turnover of between $30,000 and $75,000 – if you have a decline in turnover of 30% you will receive a fortnightly payment of $1,500 for the duration of the lockdown

Additional measures announced:

-Boost for crisis and mental health services

-Support for tenants and landlords

Registration for support and grants will commence from tomorrow and more information will become available at www.service.nsw.gov.au
