Member for Pittwater Rob Stokes is encouraging local sporting clubs and associations to apply for funds under the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program.
The $4.65 million program aims to increase regular and on-going involvement in sport and recreation activities, break down barriers to participation, improve local sporting facilities and foster community cohesion.
Grants of between $500 and $15,000 are available, and applications are being received until Wednesday, 7 October.
“Sporting activities and clubs are an integral part of our community,” Rob Stokes said today.
“We know they offer a range of opportunities and support avenues for local residents and their strength and success has tremendous flow on benefits.
“This annual program is an important opportunity for our local sporting groups to secure additional funds that will directly support their activities and initiatives.
“Under last year’s program, funds were allocated to local surf life saving clubs, golf clubs, baseball and basketball clubs, canoeists and a cycling club.
“I’m looking forward to seeing this year’s projects and the benefits they’ll provide our community,” Rob Stokes said.
