Member for Pittwater Rob Stokes has announced almost $1 million for wharf upgrades on Scotland Island.
The funding is part of the NSW Government’s Boating Now Program which assists local councils with the delivery of essential boating infrastructure.
Northern Beaches Council has been allocated $641,000 to support improvements to Carols Wharf and $351,000 to upgrade Bell Wharf on Scotland Island.
Both wharves will be extended to accommodate additional capacity and improvements will be introduced to enhance safety and disability access.
“These wharves are essential for residents of Scotland Island and serve as key access points,” Rob Stokes said today.
“Extending and upgrading these wharves will provide additional tie up spaces and help make them easier and safer to use.
“The wharf extensions will also enable deeper water access during low tides and assist with overall reliability.
“These are vital projects for Scotland Island residents - so I’m delighted the NSW Government is providing financial support," Rob Stokes said.
