Welcome news that we will be released from lockdown at 12:01am on Sunday morning 10 January!
Thank you to everyone in the community for supporting each other during these really difficult few weeks.
It’s crucial we remain vigilant – NSW Health advice has been updated for two local venues:
• Avalon Woolworths – Sat 2 Jan 3:45pm-4pm, Sun 3 Jan 12:45pm-1pm, Mon 4 Jan 6:30pm-6:50pm, Tue 5 Jan 4:45pm-5pm, Wed 6 Jan 12:45pm-1pm
• Avalon Chemist Warehouse – Sun 3 Jan 1pm-1:15pm
If you were at either of these venues at these times, please get tested immediately and isolate.
Only with large testing numbers can NSW Health have assurance there is no unidentified transmission occurring in our community. We have proven to NSW we can turn out for testing – let’s keep it up!
Let’s help make sure COVID has been extinguished locally so we can open up again with confidence and support our small businesses.
It’s fantastic we’ve secured a commitment for the NSW Government’s Dine and Discover program to be fast tracked to support small businesses throughout Pittwater. This will represent a major injection of funds into our local economy, and help incentivise the return of much needed foot traffic into our shopping villages.
And while the vouchers are a great start, businesses are still telling me that other support is still needed. Therefore, Small Business Commissioner, Mr Chris Lamont, will also visit local businesses next week to listen to ideas for other support that Government might consider in getting our local economy back to work.
